These are photos of the Stringray Concept
#17 That is a dude
I second that.
I just threw up a little in my mouth.
5th that….and I mean literally, It would take a fifth of whiskey befor you could convince me thats a chick.
Too over the top for my taste -even though it's a concept and is meant to be-
I could car less what powerplant the Corvette has and where it's mounted, so long as it's fast. But GM will have to answer to legions of 'Vette fans who can be more hostile than Twilight fans.
It should always have a V8
If anything… up the power. never downgrade. it has to have that deep sound that you just don't get from almost any 6
As an owner of a 65 Vette – that concept is FUGLY!
You see so many sports cars getting forced induction with less displacement in order to adhere to the mandates for better gas mileage. But the Corvette was so far ahead of the curve (30mpg with over 400hp in the C6) I don't see why they would even flirt with a V6. Beside that, GM hasn't produced anything other than a front engined vehicle in so long I'd be skeptical (although Ford nailed it with the GT).
Here's to more of the same! Don't over think it GM, your formulas worked for nearly 60 years.
How about the Solstice and SKY's (Kappa platform), and Camaro…
I saw this car at the philly auto show last year and its DEFINETELY got a V8. Although a turbo-V8 might be nice.
EXACTLY texjosh. the corvette is the sexiest sounding car out there. dont ruin it by puttin a dinky v6 in a corvette. that doesnt even sound right. i understand the whole gas mileage thing, but if you have a problem with gas, screw you buy something else. theres plenty of people that can barely afford the gas, and still have a corvette including myself. try not to screw everything up GM, before the Corvette name has the same fate as half of your car companies.
Apparently you *don't* understand the whole gas mileage thing. It has nothing to do with offering the consumer a choice, and everything to do with complying with government mandates. They aren't increasing gas mileage because they think their customers want it, they are doing it because they are being forced to.
Youre the dumb shit tito, 400hp & 28mpgs as of today, they are complying with gov mandates, to get that much power out of a smaller power plant means using more gas for power, not less. This is not rocket science. Turbos help keep the mpgs up during regular driving but spooled up they Blow (literally) Watch the f'n top gear with the M3 and priuss heads up, they drive the same speed on the same track, pacing each other, and the M3 gets better mileage. Its not what you drive, but how you drive it.
wtf is there a dude in the gallery?
This is a concept car, GM has already released photos of a newer convertible corvette concept that looks similar, but also a lot of changes. The C7 may have some similarities to this, but I doubt very many.
As far as the mid engine? That's been rumored for the "next" vette for what, 25 years now?
A forced fed V6 however, wouldnt be a surprised, at least as the base engine. All manufacturers are having to meet the minimum mileage standards, so they really dont have a choice but to offer something with better mileage. So dont be surprised if the base is turbo v6, with the V8's as options.
Judging by its proportions, that is a front-engined car.
I’m not sure exactly why but this web site is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a problem on my end? I’ll check back later on
and see if the problem still exists.
