Flat track racing is an exciting variation of standard motorcycle racing where specially designed motorcycles are raced on an oval track whose surface is comprised of either dirt or grass. This form of racing originated back in the 20s and 30s and is the single most common form of racing found in the United States today. Some of the best traditional asphalt racers got their start in flat track racing including legends such as Lee Petty and Nicky Hayden.
