Ian Robertson of BMW Sales and Marketing division had promised recently that this "concept" is actually a first look at the design of the new Mini. The Paceman concept combines some of the size and convenience of the Mini Countryman with a more powerful and more svelte roofline. Think the Range Rover Sport HSE and I think you understand where the brand might be going. They wanted a larger car to appeal to a larger audience but they didn't want to give up the iconic image that the Mini conveys so the Paceman is what you get. One exciting option that could make it into production is the Mini John Cooper Works engine with 211 hp. That would mean a nice kick in the pants especially paired with the ALL4 all-wheel-drive system in the Mini Countryman. Let's hope it turns out as nice as the concept looks.
