The MR2 was something of an odd duck for toyota at the time of release in 1984. The MR2 was a small, two-seat, mid-engined, rear wheel drive sports car that has established quite a fan base all over the world. The small and light vehicle was a favorite with weekend racers due to it's good handling and overall solid build quality. The choice of engine, up until Toyota introduced a supercharged version in 1987, was a 1.6 liter naturally aspirated power plant that produced 112 hp and took the small car to 60 mph in about 9 seconds. At the time the sub-9 second to 60 time was faster than its competitive rivals and made for quite a thrilling ride.
