This past episode of Top Gear USA marked the best episode so far but also a significant change in the rhetoric used in the show. All the guys seem to be finally feeling a little more comfortable in their own shoes. The glossy sheen of a new show has worn off and they are hitting their stride as show hosts.

This is all well and good, but what about their car reviews? One of the biggest criticisms of Top Gear USA has been that the commentators wouldn't be able to tell the truth because of the advertising dollars flowing into History Channel's coffers. Wouldn't they anger the advertisers if they give the cars bad reviews? Well, maybe. You can't have a car show without opinions and criticism of the vehicles in question which is why am I excited from the last episode. When reviewing the Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing, Adam showed quite a bit of disappointment with how the car performed. I'm glad to see that in America it is possible to run and car show and also be critical of the vehicles. Let's see if the show continues in the same vein next week!
